Big and Nasty

Jonathan Broxton looked sharp today in closing out today’s 7-3 win today for the Royals over the Angels. After entering the game in the bottom of the 9th inning with runners on first (Pujols) and second (Kendrick) and no one out, Broxton proceeded to strike out the side in succession (Hunter, Wells and Morales). Though the location of his slider was a little off, his fastball sat at 97 mph and touched 99. If the big guy can stay healthy, he could be a candidate for AL Comeback Player of the Year by season’s end.
