Imperfect, An Improbable Life
And now for something more uplifting. Former major league pitcher Jim Abbott has written a new book with Tim Brown called “Imperfect.” Here is an excerpt from Chris Erskine’s review of the book in the Los Angeles Times.

Where this book really sings is in these moments, when the kids think Abbott is inspiring them when it is often the other way around, all of it deftly handled by co-writer Brown, whose storytelling skills are evident throughout.

30 Clubs in 30 Days - Angels

First up, the Los Angeles Angels (of Anaheim). This is one of two jerseys I own that is a replica rather then authentic. I misread the eBay description, but it only cost me $9 including shipping.

I like the current Angels jersey design, including the alternate vest that I’m wearing in my photo. The worst Angels uniform easily has to be the periwinkle ones worn from 1997 to 2001 when Disney owned the team (shown here on Chuck Finley).

Of course, I’d love to add an Nolan Ryan Angels jersey to my collection, but first I would add a Jim Abbott jersey from the early 1990s. Dean Chance’s original wool flannel model is also high on my list.
